CAMILLE A. BROWN (Dancer, Choreographer) attended Bernice Johnson's Cultural Arts School, Carolyn Devore Dance Studios, LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts, and The Ailey School. She received her B.F.A. in dance from The North Carolina School of the Arts. Most recently, she was a member of Ronald K. Brown/Evidence (2001-2007) where she had the opportunity to perform the lead role of ‘Mother God’ in Brown’s critically acclaimed work, Grace. She is also a featured dancer in BET Jazz’ documentary on Blueprint of A Lady- a collaboration with Brown and Grammy nominated Jazz vocalist Nnenna Freelon.  Ms. Brown has also performed works by Dianne McIntyre, Roger C. Jeffrey, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Bridget L. Moore, Matthew Rushing, and is currently a guest with Rennie Harris/Puremovement. She has created works for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Philadanco, Ailey II, Urban Bush Women, Ballet Memohis, and Hubbard Street II. Awards and fellowships include a 2006 Princess Grace Award in Choreography, a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Choreography, The Presidential Scholar of the Arts Award in Dance, NFAA Young Artists’ Award, The Helen Tamiris Award, and The Project Next Generation Award.  She has been featured in Dance Magazine, Dance Spirit, Marie Claire, Gestures Magazine (China), Expressions Magazine (Italy), Sisterhood Agenda Magazine, and The Joyce Theater's 25th Anniversary Magazine. Most recently, Ms. Brown choreographed dance segments for Saverio Palatella's line during New York's Fashion Week, and was a guest performer with the Ailey company during their 50th anniversary season at New York City Center. www.camilleabrown.org
